Keep the Fire Burning

This artwork unfolds a part of the story of the Quirindi community, entwining the essence of our home with the rich knowledges of Kamilaroi people living on the plains. The vibrant ochre hues echo the spirits of our Ancestors, grounding us in the wisdom passed from the Stories and lessons told and learned before us guiding our steps with a legacy of care for this sacred land. The yellow ochres resonate with the continuation of our roles and responsibilities, a reminder of the importance of the next generation growing strong in spirit, proud in culture and confident to continue the nurturing of our country. White ochre embodies the watching eyes of our children, absorbing the stories, learning, and growing in the embrace of community.
